Iranian Defense Minister Mohammad Reza Ashtiani accused the United States of disrupting the regional balance in the Middle East. The statement follows the targeted killing of Hamas deputy leader Saleh al-Arouri outside of Gaza in Lebanon. Ashtiani made the comments during an Islamic Regime cabinet meeting, stating that there would be solidarity against American policies in the region. He also warned that the consequences of the incident would be felt by the US. Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards issued a warning to Israel and the US, promising a rise in Palestinian terror in the West Bank following al-Arouri’s death. The guards condemned the drone attack in south Beirut and blamed it on Israel and the US. They also warned that Palestinian terrorists will become more determined in their actions, particularly in the West Bank. Additionally, Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian referred to the killing of al-Arouri as a “terrorist act” and stated that it showed Israel’s failure to achieve its goals in Gaza despite American support. He described it as a “cowardly terrorist operation” and condemned the Zionist regime for its actions in Gaza and the West Bank of Palestine.
