Iranian Regime Uses Fake Media to Justify Killing, Alleges Report

Iran’s Tasnim News faked an image of a Kurdish businessman with a rabbi to justify his killing. The pro-government Iranian media outlet posted the image online and claimed that the businessman, Peshraw Dizayee, was associated with Israel’s spy agency and was killed in a missile attack in Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The investigation into the fake photos clearly shows that Dizayee’s image was added to the photos. Iran’s regime also went so far as to remove the hair of a waitress in the background to make her appear to be a man. This new low for the Iranian regime illustrates its antisemitic conspiracy theories and its targeting of civilians and families in the region. Iran provided no evidence of the businessman’s alleged connections to Israel, yet it used the fake image to justify his killing. This malicious act has sparked outrage among media outlets and people around the world.
