IRGC Commander Credits Foiling Israeli Espionage for Iran’s Security

In a speech on Saturday, IRGC Commander-in-Chief Hossein Salami claimed that Iranian regime’s security relies on foiling Israeli “espionage services.” Salami reiterated regime’s position that Muslims’ security, including Palestinians, depends on Israel’s eradication.

Iran’s security

He stated, “Undoubtedly, stable security and rare peace of Islamic Iran today are amidst domination system’s plots, Zionism, and battles with enemies’ espionage services.”

In his statement, he emphasized regime’s commitment to Palestinian militant groups like Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad in ongoing Israel-Hamas war, with potential northern front opening between Israel and Hezbollah.

Salami is known for fiery rhetoric targeting Israel and the US, coordinating Iran’s militias and proxy forces in the Middle East, including Hezbollah and Shiite militant groups attacking US forces.

Connections to Soleimani

After Qassem Soleimani’s assassination in 2020, Salami vowed retaliation against the US at his funeral.

In December, Salami predicted the “fake Israeli regime’s collapse” was near, citing increasing pro-Palestinian sentiments globally due to Israel-Hamas conflict.

Tensions escalate between Iran and Israel with Iran’s continued support for proxies like Hamas, Hezbollah, and Israel’s responses, like attacks on Iranian gas pipelines.
