Israeli Hostages Appeal for Red Cross Visit to Remaining Captives

Eight Israelis previously held captive by Hamas wrote a letter to the International Committee of the Red Cross asking for assistance. The letter requested medical aid and visits to their relatives still in captivity. The hostages endured harsh conditions, including lack of medical treatment, food shortages, unsanitary living conditions, and psychological and physical abuse. They requested the Red Cross to secure the immediate release of those still in captivity and to verify their health status. The Red Cross has yet to respond to the letter. The organization has called for agreements to allow its teams to check on hostages and deliver medication. The letter also requested a meeting with the organization’s president.
