Gazans’ disgruntlement causes Israeli official’s emigration proposal to Gaza citizens; Palestinian officials and Jordan and Egypt affirm their opposition The proposal made by Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich urging the voluntary emigration of Gazans to other countries has been met with outrage. Egyptian and Jordanian officials have also expressed their opposition to the said proposal. Palestinian and Arab officials alike have also condemned the Israeli official’s statement and have strongly rejected this idea. Hamas attcked Israel on Oct. 7, during which Hamas members killed around 1,280 and kidnapped about 240. The goal of the operation was to gain leverage on Israel to meet their demands. Israel declared war on Hamas while launching strikes on Gaza. It has killed 11,240 Palestinians, according to the Hamas-run Health Ministry.
