US Navy intercepts drone from Houthi-controlled Yemen

The US Navy has shot down a drone from Yemen controlled by the Houthi group, making it the sixth such incident in the southern Red Sea since the conflict between Israel and Hamas. The incident comes amidst attacks on commercial vessels in the Middle East. Earlier on Wednesday, an incident involving a suspected drone was reported near the Yemeni port of Hodeidah in the Red Sea. UKMTO warned vessels in the area to exercise caution. There were no reported injuries or damage to US Navy vessels in the attack. The US military also reported three commercial ships coming under attack in the southern Red Sea. The Houthi group claimed responsibility for drone and missile attacks on two Israeli vessels in the area, citing support for the Palestinian people.
